One of my favorite things...

One of my very favorite, yet ordinary sightings in Thailand is seeing the laundromats. You will be biking or driving along a road (sometimes a main road, and sometimes a back road) and there on the side will be a completely outdoor, serve yourself laundromat. Not only is it fun that it is fully outdoors, but it's good value, since  a load costs just under a dollar. This always makes me think of our friends without water in Fairbanks, hauling their laundry through the frigid air and then just about breaking the bank to pay to wash and dry their clothes. Makes me wish they could come over for a quick laundry vacation, and maybe buy an ice cream cone to stay cool while they waited for their laundry to finish.
